Ms Srija Sur

Present Position: Assistant Professor

Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, School of Medical Sciences

E-mail: srija1.sur@adamasuniversity.ac.in

Education:

  • M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics) from (Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan)
  • Bachelors in Pharmacy, Gurunanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, MAKAUT

Research Key Areas:

  • Nanotechnology
  • Drug delivery
  • Occular diseases
  • Cancer research and diagnosis.

Research Highlights:

  • Summer Research Training Programme 2020 conducted by CSIR on the Topic “Medicinal Plants: A Traditional Way of Healing Covid-19”.
  • Prepared carbon dot loaded Folate-modified PEGylated liposome with Enzalutamide for the treatment of Breast Cancer. The formulation has been designed such that it will also provide bio-image of the cancerous cells to monitor its severity and also will give targeted delivery.
  • Prepared Gold nanoparticle for the treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy.
  • Summer research fellowship programme under the guidance of Professor Ashutosh Richhariya from L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, on the topic, “Functional imaging to determine the cell health of the bacteria”, sponsored by IASc (bengaluru), INSA (New Delhi) and NASI (Allahabad). I gained expertise in studying the thermal images of micro-organisms (gram positive bacteria, gram negative bacteria and fungi) as well as of ocular patients suffering from thyroid eye disease, dry eye syndrome, fungal infections etc.
  • Prepared Liposome loaded ophthalmic formulations or in other words, liposome loaded in-situ gel was prepared in a DST supported project. In vivo pharmacokinetic activity of the prepared formulation was studied in Albino rabbits. Our team had prepared liposome loaded in-situ gel which was instilled in albino rabbits and then, their pharmacokinetic studies were performed by cornea separation and aqueous humour collection.
