Research Highlights:


  • Identified virulence attributes of a two-component regulatory system in Escherichia coli. His work identified the role of a transcriptional regulator, uvrY in mediating adhesion in avian and uropathogenic Escherichia coli.
  • Developed a poultry model to test live attenuated Salmonella vaccines and identified several vaccine candidates against fowl typhoid, a poultry disease.
  • Dr Mitra’s current research interests are biofilms, bacterial pathogenesis and vaccine development.
